The Stern Sauvignon from Kellerei Kaltern shows just how aromatic a dry Sauvignon Blanc from South Tyrol can be: bright straw yellow in the glass, fragrant, and with clear freshness on the palate.

Kellerei Kaltern is located at Lake Kaltern in the south of South Tyrol, one of the most traditional wine-growing areas in the region. The wine bears the designation of origin Alto Adige DOC and stands for the style of the area: varietally typical, clear, and lively.

On the nose, elderflower, cassis, and gooseberry freshness meet exotic fruits. The fruit continues on the palate, carried by a juicy, slightly salty note that gives the dry wine drive and structure. The finish is long and fruit-driven.

Recommendation: Serve it at 8 to 10 °C. It pairs well with asparagus with herb sauce, fried fish, fresh goat cheese, or a salad with garden herbs, and it works just as well as an aperitif on the terrace.
