How does the Stemmari Grillo taste?
Dry and fresh, with aromas of green tea, nettles, hay, and jasmine. On the palate, it is balanced and aromatic — not a heavy wine, but with distinct character due to the Sicilian Grillo grape variety.
What does the Grillo pair best with?
Classically with seafood and fish, but also with antipasti or simple pasta with tomatoes or seafood. The fresh acidity stands up well to spicy sauces.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Ideally at 8–10 °C — so well-chilled, but not ice-cold. Served too cold, it loses its aromatic depth.
Is the Grillo really dry?
Yes, it is vinified dry and fermented in steel tanks, which emphasizes the freshness and the varietal-typical herbal aromas — no residual sugar, no oak notes.
How long can I store the wine?
The Grillo is designed for freshness and should be stored in a cool, dark place. Storing upright is no problem with a screw cap or crown cap; for natural corks, it is better to store them lying down.
The Winery
The winery and the vineyards are located in the southwest of Sicily near Sambuca di Sicilia in the province of Agrigento. To be precise, the winery is owned by Mezzacorona, one of Italy's leading wine companies.
When Feudo Arancio was acquired in 2001, the vineyards were found to be heavily neglected. But the soil analysis showed that this was the earth they had been looking for.
A major project began. The old winery was completely demolished and the entire vineyard sites were replanted. No expense was spared to create a completely new, ultra-modern winery as well as an irrigation system in all vineyards.
