Spätburgunder Réserve dry QW Baden 0.75L

The Spätburgunder Réserve from the Freiherr von Gleichenstein winery shows what the Kaiserstuhl can do when site and craft come together: a red Burgundy style with depth, without losing elegance.

The winery, based in Oberrotweil, is one of the most traditional addresses in Baden. The grapes for this Réserve grow at the foot of the Oberrotweiler Eichberg slope — pure southern exposure, volcanic weathered soil, which gives the Spätburgunder warmth and mineral substance.

In the glass, it shows a dense ruby red. The nose opens with blackberry, black cherry, and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, the wine appears structured, the tannins are ripe and integrated, the acidity present enough to give the body support. The finish is long, with a slightly spicy, earthy note.

Good with game dishes, rack of lamb with rosemary, or ripe mountain cheese. Drinking temperature: 16–18 °C — then it unfolds its full aromatic potential.
