Select Bitter Aperitif

The Select Bitter Aperitif from Montenegro Group is a Venetian aperitif classic — specifically developed for cocktails like the Spritz, but also convincing when enjoyed neat over ice.

The recipe combines 30 herbs and botanicals, including juniper berries with balsamic-resinous notes and rhubarb root, which gives the bitter its characteristic depth. In the glass, it displays a bright amber-orange color; on the palate, it offers first a fruity sweetness, followed by a clear, lingering bitterness without any harsh edges.

Whether as a base for a Spritz with Prosecco and a splash of soda, as an ingredient in a Negroni, or neat with an ice cube and an orange zest—Select Bitter complements all three variations. Recommended serving temperature: well chilled, 6–8 °C.
