Savigny-Les-Beaune Clos des Godeaux AC 0.75L
A classic Burgundy from the village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, located between Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses in the heart of the Côte de Beaune: Clos des Godeaux shows what this underrated appellation stands for — Pinot Noir with elegance rather than weight, approachable yet substantial.
Joseph Drouhin is among the most renowned négociant-Éleveurs of the Côte d'Or. Founded in 1880, the Beaune-based estate has been cultivating its own vineyards (Demeter-certified) biodynamically for decades and is known for its varietally typical, subtly extracted style. Clos des Godeaux is a monopole vineyard, which Drouhin cultivates exclusively.
In the glass, it shines a clear ruby red. The nose offers sour cherry, raspberry, and a hint of violet—typical for Savigny-lès-Beaune. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with silky tannins, lively acidity, and a clean, slightly spicy finish with a floral note. Not a heavy wine, but one that impresses with its finesse.
Drinking window now until 2029. Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. Pairs well with roast chicken with herb butter, salmon trout, mild goat cheese or mushroom risotto.
