Saperavi Superiore QW Georgia 0.75L

Saperavi is Georgia's most important red wine grape variety—deep tannins, almost black color, high natural acidity. The Superiore from Château Mukhrani demonstrates what this grape variety can achieve in the Kartli Valley when given time to develop.

Château Mukhrani boasts a history dating back to the 16th century. Located in the Kartli region, about 30 kilometers west of Tbilisi, the estate is one of Georgia's oldest and most renowned wineries. Its vineyards benefit from a continental climate with hot summers and cool nights—ideal for red wines that are both structured and fresh.

In the glass, the wine shines a deep ruby red with violet reflections. The nose offers aromas of black mulberry, blackberry, and ripe cherry, with an earthy, slightly spicy note in the background. On the palate, it is dry with noticeable but well-integrated tannins and lively acidity that gives the wine length and drive. The finish is dark-fruited and lingering.

Best served at 16–18 °C . Pairs well with braised lamb, brisket, or strong cheeses like Pecorino. Those familiar with Georgian cuisine will serve it with Mtsvadi—the traditional grilled shashlik.
