Saltner Pinot Noir Riserva Alto Adige DOC 0.75L

Pinot Noir from South Tyrol shows its own character: cooler than Burgundy, aromatically more precise than many German interpretations. The Saltner Blauburgunder Riserva from Kellerei Kaltern brings exactly that into the glass — a red wine that convinces with elegance instead of power.

Kellerei Kaltern is one of the most renowned cooperatives in South Tyrol and works with winemakers around Lake Kaltern. The Riserva predicate stands for extended aging and stricter selection — grapes that are given more time to develop depth.

In the glass, the wine shines in a clear ruby red. The nose shows sour cherry, violets, and a hint of marzipan. On the palate, it appears slim and sinewy, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a long, slightly spicy finish. Not a heavyweight — but a wine with precision and line.

Serve it at 16–17 °C with veal loin with mushrooms, South Tyrolean speck and gray cheese, or a pigeon with polenta. It also cuts a fine figure with light game dishes.
