Saleit Chardonnay Alto Adige DOC 0.75L

The Saleit Chardonnay from the Kellerei Kaltern winery shows what South Tyrolean white wine can do: aromatic fullness that nevertheless remains fresh and precise.

The Kellerei Kaltern is one of South Tyrol's most renowned cooperatives and has been vinifying the sites around Lake Kaltern for decades. The high-alpine climate with cool nights and intense sunlight ensures the characteristic tension between ripeness and acidity that distinguishes South Tyrolean Chardonnay.

In the glass, the Saleit glows in a clear straw yellow. The nose shows tropical hints of pineapple and ripe pear, underscored by a hint of vanilla and a fine woody melt. On the palate, it feels full-bodied with well-integrated acidity and a long, pleasantly creamy finish.

Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with veal medallions with cream sauce, creamy pasta with truffle, or grilled turbot. It also cuts a fine figure as an accompaniment to mild mountain cheese from the region.
