A Chardonnay from the Mâconnais that shows what this often underestimated Burgundy appellation can achieve — with the name Lafon behind it, it takes on a whole new dimension.

Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon is the Meursault line of the legendary Domaine des Comtes Lafon, which has been active in the Mâconnais region since the 1990s. Their Saint-Véran comes from the appellation of the same name, south of Pouilly-Fuissé—limestone soils, a continental climate, pure Chardonnay terroir. The philosophy: minimal intervention, maximum expression of origin.

In the glass, it displays a clear golden yellow color. The nose offers white peach, ripe apple, and a hint of hazelnut—along with a subtle minerality typical of the limestone soils of the Mâconnais region. On the palate, it has fresh acidity, a medium body, and a clean, light finish.

Drink it at 10–12 °C with roast chicken, a gratin dauphinois, or goat cheese with honey. It also makes a great aperitif on its own before a meal. Best enjoyed between 2025 and 2028.
