Saint-Véran AC 0.75L

A Chardonnay from the Mâconnais that shows the elegant side of southern Burgundy: fresh, aromatic, and with a style that is significantly closer to Pouilly-Fuissé than to a simple country wine.

Saint-Véran is located directly on the border with Pouilly-Fuissé and shares its calcareous soils. Maison Joseph Drouhin, based in Beaune since 1880, is one of Burgundy's best-known négociant-éleveurs and works with long-standing winemakers in the region. The goal: make the origin readable, respect the vintage.

In the glass, the wine glows golden yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose, yellow pear, ripe mirabelle, and a hint of white flowers. On the palate, it appears medium-weight with lively acidity that gives the wine structure and length. The finish is fresh and mineral.

Good with scallops with butter sauce, a creamy chicken fricassee, or mature Brie de Meaux. Also cuts a fine figure as an aperitif with a cheese platter. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C.
