Sagamore Double Oak Rye Whiskey 0.7L

The Sagamore Double Oak is a straight rye whiskey from Maryland that matures in two stages: it is first stored for four to five years in new American oak barrels, then for another 18 months in so-called wave-stave barrels.

Sagamore Spirit thus continues the tradition of Maryland rye whiskey and adds its own accents to the barrel aging process. The water is lime-filtered and comes from a spring house built in 1909.

In the glass, caramel and toffee meet hazelnut and toasted coconut. The second maturation provides these sweet notes, while the rye provides the spicy foundation underneath.

Drink it neat or with an ice cube, then the barrel aromas come into their own most clearly. In an Old Fashioned or Manhattan, it stands in the classics where rye whiskey is traditionally at home. Dark chocolate or salted nuts go well with it.
