Ryder Cabernet Sauvignon

A Cabernet Sauvignon from the Salinas Valley that shows what Monterey County is capable of: dark fruit, structure and a pleasant smoothness without any rough edges.

Behind this is Scheid Family Wines — a family business that Al Scheid pioneered in the region in 1972, long before Monterey County appeared on the world wine map. Today, the family cultivates around 4,000 hectares along the 110-kilometer-long Salinas Valley, with varying soils and microclimates that offer ample scope for viticulture.

In the glass, the Ryder displays aromas of cherry and blackcurrant, along with dark chocolate and a hint of bourbon vanilla on the finish. The tannin structure is present but well-integrated—full-bodied, with a slightly sweet fruitiness that makes the wine approachable.

Best served at 16–18 °C . Pairs well with grilled beef tenderloin, BBQ ribs, or a strong cheddar. Also a good choice as a casual evening wine on its own.
