Ruppertsberger Reiterpfad Riesling QW, VDP.ERSTE LAGE 0.75L
The Reiterpfad in Ruppertsberg belongs to the classified First Growths of the Palatinate — an award that the VDP predicate only grants to vineyards whose terroir demonstrably shapes an independent character. Weingut A. Christmann, for decades one of the leading biodynamic addresses on the German Wine Route, manages this site with the ambition of letting the soil speak, not the cellar.
In the glass, the Riesling shows the typical profile of the Ruppertsberg sandstone-loess soil: ripe citrus fruit, a hint of white peach, underpinned by a fine mineral spice. The acidity is present but integrated — not an edgy wine, but one with tension and length on the finish.
Drink it at 10–12 °C with grilled sea bass with fennel, zander fillet on Riesling butter, or a mature mountain cheese. It also cuts a fine figure as an accompaniment to Asian-spiced poultry — ginger, lemongrass, coconut milk.
