Baron Edmond Rupert & Rothschild

Baron Edmond Rupert & Rothschild
Baron Edmond von Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons is the flagship wine of the legendary joint venture between two winemaking dynasties – Dr. Anton Rupert from South Africa and Baron Edmond de Rothschild from France. On the historic Huguenot farm Fredericksburg , at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountains in Stellenbosch , Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot grapes are cultivated to create a Bordeaux-inspired cuvée of the utmost elegance.
In the glass, it shimmers a rich purplish-red with dark red highlights . The nose is complex and seductive with aromas of cassis, black cherry, plum, and cedar , accompanied by nuances of licorice, graphite, tobacco, mint, and delicate vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied, elegant, and powerful all at once, with silky, harmoniously integrated tannins and a long, precise finish.
Matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels , this wine has an alcohol content of 14.0% ABV and should be served at 16–18°C with at least one hour of decanting. Ideal with beef steak, game dishes, and mature cheeses – with aging potential until 2032 .
