Ron Botran Roaju 0.7L

Ron Botran Roaju is a rum blend from Guatemala that tells the story of the Botran family's emigration: in the mid-20th century, they left Burgos in Spain to use Guatemala's climate for rum production. The rum in the blend is up to 20 years old.

Its path through the barrels reflects this journey. First, it ages in the barrel types typical for Botran: American white oak, Oloroso sherry, and Tawny port wine barrels. Additionally, it is stored in barrels that previously held wine from Ribera del Duero, a reference to the family's Spanish home.

In the glass, black fruits and plums stand alongside coffee, toffee, and spices. The toffee sweetness meets dark roasted notes. It is best drunk neat at room temperature from a tulip glass, preferably with a piece of dark chocolate. A large ice cube also fits if you like it a bit milder. A rum for quiet evenings after a meal.
