Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir Yamhill-Carlton

A Pinot Noir that brings two worlds together: the discipline of Burgundy and the cool freshness of the Willamette Valley. With the Résonance, Maison Louis Jadot has proven that Oregon delivers not just promises, but real terroir.

Oregon, thought of from Burgundy. Louis Jadot — one of the defining addresses of the Côte d'Or since 1859 — left its home for the first time in 2013. The choice fell on Yamhill-Carlton, one of the driest and warmest sub-appellations of the Willamette Valley, characterized by old sedimentary soils from the Jurassic period. Jacques Lardière, long-time cellar master at Jadot, was responsible for the first vintages: own-rooted, non-irrigated vines that have to work their way deep into the rock — that is not a choice, but a philosophy.

In the glass, the Résonance shows what distinguishes Oregon Pinot Noir from Burgundy: more fruit depth, less austerity. Aromas of fresh blackberry and sour cherry, underpinned by violets and a hint of roasted strawberry. The tannins are silky, the acidity vibrant without sharpness. In the finish, herbs and a light tone of red tea emerge — long, dry, fine.

Serving recommendation: Ideal with duck breast with Pinot reduction, rack of lamb, or an aged Époisses. Temperature: 16–17 °C.
