Quartet Brut Roederer Estate Californian Quality Sparkling Wine

Californian sparkling wine with a French touch: The Quartet Brut from Roederer Estate combines a creamy perlage with a clear structure and a long, spicy finish.

The winery is located in the cool Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. The name Quartet refers to the four estate vineyards from which the grapes are sourced. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are composed as a multi-vintage blend, with a portion of reserve wines aged in wood (around 10 to 15 percent) keeping the style consistent from year to year. Bottle fermentation follows the traditional method, after which the wine matures on the lees for at least 24 months.

In the glass, apple and peach appear, accompanied by brioche, toasted bread, and fine spice. On the palate, it feels creamy in its mousse, dry in the Brut style, and precisely built; the finish remains long.

Serve it well chilled at 6 to 8 °C: as an aperitif, with oysters, roasted poultry, or a mature hard cheese.
