Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as one knows them in Bordeaux, but with the signature of the thermal region south of Vienna: This dry red wine from Bad Vöslau comes as a 1.5-liter magnum for the table and thus fits well with larger gatherings.

The Robert Schlumberger winery is one of the traditional names in Bad Vöslau. The Privatkeller Cabernet-Merlot is bottled as a quality wine (QW) from the thermal region. In the glass, it shows a deep dark ruby red.

On the nose, black berries and sour cherries meet fine notes of tobacco and precious wood. On the palate, the wine feels spicy and powerful, the tannins are firm and well-integrated, and the ripe fruit remains lively. In the long finish, a fine minerality lingers.

It is best to decant it beforehand and serve it at about 17 °C. It pairs well with braised beef, lamb shoulder Provençal, roasted venison, or medium-mature hard cheese. The magnum bottle is suitable for a meal shared with several guests.
