Privatissimo Cabernet solo QW Bad Vöslau 0.75L
A single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from Bad Vöslau — that's a rarity in Austria, and one that piques curiosity. The thermal region south of Vienna, with its warm soils, provides the ripeness this international grape variety needs to reveal its full depth.
The Robert Schlumberger winery is primarily known for its sparkling wines, but the Privatissimo Cabernet Solo showcases a different side of the estate: concentrated, dry, with the typical structure of Cabernet Sauvignon. In the glass, it displays an intense red color with violet reflections. The nose offers dark berries—blackcurrant, blackberry—along with a hint of bell pepper and cedar, characteristic of this grape variety. On the palate, firm yet ripe tannins, a clear acidity, and a long, spicy finish.
It's best enjoyed at 16–18 °C , ideally decanted. It pairs well with seared beef fillet, leg of lamb with rosemary, or strong hard cheeses. Aging it for another one to two years will reward you with an even smoother texture.
