Pommard Épenots Clos de Citeaux Monopole AC Premier Cru 0.75L

The Pommard Épenots Clos de Citeaux Monopole is a Premier Cru from a single vineyard owned exclusively by Domaine Jean Monnier & Fils — a monopole that cannot be bought anywhere else. The Épenots are among the most famous vineyards in Pommard, located directly on the border with Beaune, with deep, iron-rich soils that give the Pinot Noir structure and depth.

A deep garnet red appears in the glass. On the nose, the wine opens with aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and a hint of dried violets. On the palate, a medium-bodied structure follows with firm but ripe tannins, invigorating acidity, and a long, earthy finish with a mineral note typical of the Épenots soils.

It is best served at 16–17 °C — ideally decanted an hour before drinking. On the table, it pairs well with duck breast with cherries, braised beef, or a mature Époisses.
