Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC 0.75L

Franz Haas' Pinot Nero shows why South Tyrol is one of the most exciting growing regions for this demanding grape variety: cool, precise, with a lightness that one rarely expects from a red wine.

The vines grow at altitudes between 350 and 900 meters above sea level – an unusually wide range that Franz Haas consciously utilizes. The diverse soils and the cool mountain air of South Tyrol give the wine its characteristic tension and finesse, clearly distinguishing it from warmer Pinot Noir interpretations.

In the glass, it displays the typical light ruby ​​color of the grape variety. The nose offers aromas of cherry, raspberry, and a hint of violet, underpinned by a subtle minerality. On the palate, it is finely structured, with lively acidity and silky tannins – not a heavy red wine, but one with elegance and drive. The finish is fresh and long.

Best served at 14–16 °C . Pairs well with veal medallions, porcini risotto or grilled salmon with herb butter – and also tastes great on its own on a cool evening.
