Picol Sauvignon Blanc Isonzo DOC

The Picol shows how dense and multi-layered Sauvignon Blanc from Northern Italy can be: vinified dry, aromatically intense, and with an acidity that gives it tension.

Lis Neris is located in the Isonzo, in eastern Friuli on the border with Slovenia, and is one of the well-known wineries in the region. The Picol bears the Isonzo DOC designation of origin. It is aged in wood and on the fine lees, which gives it additional structure and texture.

On the nose, gooseberry, apple, and pear appear, along with herbs and freshly cut grass as typical varietal characteristics. On the palate, the wine is dense and complex without losing its elegance. The crisp, lively acidity keeps it firm, and the finish is long and multi-layered.

Serve it at 8 to 10 °C. It pairs well with asparagus with herb sauce, roasted sea fish, fresh goat cheese, or a risotto with lemon zest.
