The Petra IGT Toscana is a powerful, dry red wine that fits particularly well on the table in a magnum bottle (1.5 l) when several guests come together. The cuvée is based on Cabernet Sauvignon, supplemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

The Petra winery is located in Tuscany, a region known for its expressive red wines from international grape varieties. The Petra stands for the house's style: dense fruit, clear structure, and depth. According to the source, it was aged in barriques.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red. On the nose, blackberry, plum, and blackcurrant meet licorice, coffee, and balsamic notes of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine appears powerful and harmonious, with silky tannins, fine spice, and mineral freshness. The finale lingers long, with dark fruits and sweet spices.

Recommendation: Serve it at 16 to 18 °C with braised beef, grilled lamb, or Pecorino Stagionato. Decanting before serving gives the wine air so that the aromas can open up.
