Ölberg-Hart GG Großes Gewächs, VDP.GROSSE LAGE 0.75L

The Ölberg-Hart GG is a dry Riesling from the VDP.GROSSE LAGE Ölberg-Hart in Königsbach on the Haardtrand of the Palatinate — one of the most expressive single vineyards in the region, characterized by deep soils and the influence of the Palatinate Forest in the background.

Weingut A. Christmann is one of the defining names of the Palatinate: biodynamically farmed, a VDP member for decades, with Steffen Christmann having been president of the association for a long time. The vineyards in Königsbach and Gimmeldingen are consistently cultivated according to biodynamic principles — the vineyard as an ecosystem, not as a raw material supplier.

In the glass, the Ölberg-Hart shows the signature of this site: ripe yellow citrus fruit, peach pit, a mineral-salty undertone, and the powerful acidity structure typical of Haardtrand Rieslings. The finish is long, taut, and characterized by a fine spice.

Best served at 10–12 °C — with veal medallions with a herb crust, fried zander, or a ripe mountain cheese. Also an excellent choice as an accompaniment to scallops with butter sauce.
