Oberrotweiler Eichberg Spätburgunder Baron Philipp dry - QW Baden 0.75L

Oberrotweiler Eichberg Spätburgunder Baron Philipp dry - QW Baden 0.75L
Spätburgunder from the Kaiserstuhl — and from one of the best single sites in the region: the Oberrotweiler Eichberg stands for volcanic weathering soils that give the Pinot Noir a characteristic spice and depth.
The Freiherr von Gleichenstein winery looks back on a centuries-old history in the Breisgau. The family has been cultivating their sites on the Kaiserstuhl for generations and relies on artisanal winemaking that brings the character of the site into the bottle. The Baron Philipp is the cuvée that expresses this claim most clearly.
In the glass, a deep burgundy red appears. On the nose, sour cherry, blackberry, and a hint of violet — typical for Spätburgunder from warm Kaiserstuhl sites. On the palate, medium body, velvety tannins, and a lively acidity that keeps the wine fresh and drinkable. The finish brings a fine earthy note that is reminiscent of the volcanic soils of the Eichberg.
Good with duck breast with cherry sauce, game ragout, or a mature Munster cheese from Alsace. Drinking temperature: 16–17 °C.
