Nuits-Saint-Georges AC 0.75L
Nuits-Saint-Georges is one of the most famous appellations of the Côte de Nuits — and Maison Joseph Drouhin, based in Beaune since 1880, is one of the houses that has helped shape this reputation. Their village appellation cuvée shows what Pinot Noir from this site is all about: depth without heaviness, structure without hardness.
In the glass, a powerful ruby red shines. The nose opens with cherry and blackberry, behind which is a slightly earthy, almost forest-floor-like note that is typical of the Côte de Nuits. On the palate, it shows a medium to full body with silky tannins and fresh acidity — the classic balance that distinguishes Nuits-Saint-Georges from softer Burgundies. The finish is persistent and spicy.
Serve it at 16–17 °C with entrecôte with sauce bordelaise, Coq au Vin, or a mature Époisses. It also cuts a fine figure with game dishes such as haunch of venison or pheasant breast.
