Nicolas Jay Pinot Noir Willamette Valley

Sour cherry, dried rose petals, a hint of lavender — Nicolas Jay's Willamette Valley Pinot Noir showcases the cool, floral side of Oregon in an accessible yet clearly defined style.

Nicolas Jay is a joint project between music producer Jay Boberg and Burgundian winemaker Jean-Nicolas Méo (Méo-Camuzet, Vosne-Romanée). The winery works exclusively with Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley—a region whose volcanic soils and maritime climate are reminiscent of the Côte d'Or. This cuvée brings together grapes from several vineyards in the valley and provides a good overview of the estate's style: Burgundian in character, focusing on elegance rather than volume.

A brilliant ruby red in the glass. The nose offers aromas of sour cherry and strawberry, underpinned by rose petals and lavender. Smooth on the palate, with a fine texture and ripe, soft tannins—not a heavyweight, but with a clear structure and a fresh, lingering finish. Ready to drink now, with potential until 2028.

Serving temperature 15–17 °C. Goes well with duck breast with cherries, rack of lamb with herb crust or a mature goat cheese.
