Musigny Vieilles Vignes AC Grand Cru 0.75L
Musigny Grand Cru is one of the most famous vineyards in the world — and Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé owns a good 70 percent of it. Anyone who opens a bottle of this wine holds one of the absolute benchmarks of the Côte de Nuits in their hands.
The winery in Chambolle-Musigny looks back on a history that reaches into the 15th century and has been managed by the de Vogüé family for generations. The term "Vieilles Vignes" is no marketing formula here: the oldest vines in the estate's Musigny parcel portfolio are over 60 years old and provide concentrated, profound grapes from the limestone-rich soil above Chambolle.
In the glass, it shows what Pinot Noir at Grand Cru level means: aromas of dark cherry, violets, and fine forest floor, plus a silky tannin structure that is typical for Chambolle. The finish is long, complex, with a mineral note that recalls the limestone of the site.
Pairs well with partridge or pheasant, a classic Coq au Vin, or mature Époisses. Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. Decanting recommended.
