Mouton Cadet Rouge Vintage Edition 1,5l 1.5L

Mouton Cadet is the most famous Bordeaux label in the world — and the Vintage Edition in magnum format shows what is behind this name when you give it space. The 1.5-liter bottle matures more slowly than the standard bottle, which gives the wine additional depth and freshness.

Behind Mouton Cadet is Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. from Pauillac in the Médoc — the house that helped shape the term "Château bottling" in Bordeaux. Mouton Cadet was conceived in 1930 as an accessible cuvée from the house of Rothschild and is today one of the best-selling Bordeaux brands worldwide, with grapes from the entire Bordeaux growing region.

In the glass, the wine shows a dense ruby red. On the nose, red and black currants, cherries, and blueberries, complemented by warm roasted notes as well as spicy hints of saffron and vanilla. On the palate, aromatic fullness with lush fruit and structured tannins that give the wine hold and length.

Best served at 16–18 °C — with leg of lamb with herb crust, grilled beef fillet, or a strong hard cheese like Comté. The magnum format is well-suited for the dining table with several guests.
