Meursault La Barre AC Meursault 0.75L

Meursault is arguably the most famous white wine village in the Côte de Beaune — and the La Barre vineyard shows why: limestone soils with a clay component that give the Chardonnay exactly the tension that makes this appellation so unmistakable. Domaine Jean Monnier & Fils has been managing its plots in Meursault for generations and is one of the reliable addresses in the village — not a loud name, but a solid signature.

In the glass, a golden-yellow Chardonnay appears with the typical Meursault profile: ripe pear and white peach, plus a hint of hazelnut and a subtle buttery depth. The acidity is present but integrated — not a sharp cut, but a creamy texture that carries the wine on the palate. The finish is long, with a mineral, slightly salty aftertaste that makes the origin from limestone rock palpable.

Pairs well with sweetbreads, lobster with beurre blanc, or a mature Époisses. It also cuts a fine figure with porcini mushroom risotto or grilled sea bass. Serving temperature: 12–14 °C — if too cold, it dampens its aromatic depth.
