Merlot Croix d'Or Vin de Pays d'Oc

An accessible Merlot from the south of France: dry and juicy, without edges. The Croix d'Or carries the origin designation Vin de Pays d'Oc and comes from the Languedoc-Roussillon, one of France's largest wine regions. The warm Mediterranean climate allows the Merlot grapes to ripen evenly and gives the wine plenty of fruit.

In the nose, there are red berries and spices. On the palate, ripe blackberries and raspberries set the tone, accompanied by supple tannins. The soft, well-integrated acidity gives the wine freshness and drive, and the fruit remains in the foreground until the last sip.

Serve it at 16 °C, then the fruit remains clear and the tannins feel soft. It goes well with pasta with a hearty tomato sauce, with spicy meat dishes like leg of lamb, with piquant vegetables, and with aged cheese. It is also an uncomplicated companion for a convivial evening at the table solo.
