Mavrodaphne de Patras

Mavrodaphne de Patras
The Mavrodaphne de Patras from the Patraiki cooperative – founded in 1918 in the port city of Patras on the Peloponnese – is one of the great classics of Greek wine culture. Anyone who loves port-style dessert wines but wants to try something a little different will find exactly what they're looking for here.
In the glass, it displays a deep, dark red color with amber edges. The nose is reminiscent of dried figs, walnuts, and a hint of oak – complex, but never overpowering. On the palate, it unfolds a velvety sweetness, supported by stone fruit and lightly toasted nutty aromas. The finish is long, smooth, and warming.
Here's the best way to drink it:
- Serve slightly chilled at around 14–16 °C
- As an accompaniment to dark chocolate, walnut cake or Greek baklava
- To end an evening – pure, in a small dessert glass
- An exceptional gift for anyone who loves discovering new things
A wine with history, character and genuine recognition value.
