Maso Montalto Trentino Pinot Nero DOC

Maso Montalto Trentino Pinot Nero DOC
A Pinot Nero from the Trentino Alps that shows what this high altitude brings out of the fickle Burgundy grape: red fruit with depth, structure without heaviness.
Tenuta Margon belongs to the Ferrari Group – the Trento house that has been pushing the boundaries of alpine viticulture for generations. The Maso Montalto grows in the Trentino DOC, where cool nights and well-ventilated sites give the Pinot Nero the necessary tension.
On the nose, Amarena cherry, cassis, and ripe blackberry – complemented by a light hint of cedar wood from the barrique aging. On the palate, medium body, firm but well-integrated tannins, and a fresh line of acidity typical of alpine red wines. The finish is long and warm, with a hint of dark chocolate and clove – the result of 12 months in small oak barrels and another 15 months of bottle aging before sale.
- Food: Roast veal with a herb crust, venison ragout, mature Fontina, or mushroom risotto
- Temperature: 16–18 °C, feel free to open 30 minutes before pouring
