Maso Montalto Trentino Pinot Nero DOC

Maso Montalto Trentino Pinot Nero DOC
A Pinot Nero from the Trentino Alps that shows what this high altitude brings out of the capricious Burgundy grape: deep red fruit, structure without heaviness.
Tenuta Margon belongs to the Ferrari Group – the Trento estate that has been pushing the boundaries of Alpine winemaking for generations. The Maso Montalto grapes grow in the Trentino DOC, where cool nights and well-ventilated vineyards give the Pinot Noir its necessary vibrancy.
On the nose, aromas of Amarena cherry, cassis, and ripe blackberry are complemented by a subtle hint of cedar from the barrique aging. The palate is medium-bodied with firm yet well-integrated tannins and a fresh acidity typical of Alpine red wines. The finish is long and warm, with a touch of dark chocolate and clove – a result of 12 months in small oak barrels and a further 15 months of bottle aging before release.
