Manditocai Friulano Collio DOC Friuli-Venezia Giulia 0.75L
The Manditocai from Livon is a varietal Friulano from one of the best sites in Collio — a white wine with clear character and regional depth.
The Livon winery is one of the most famous addresses in Friuli and manages sites in several DOC areas. The Manditocai comes from the cru site of the same name in Ruttars, municipality of Dolegna del Collio — a hilly area on the Slovenian border known for its ponca: an alternation of marl and sandstone that gives the wines structure and mineral tension. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand.
In the glass, the Friulano shows the typical varietal spectrum: ripe pear and white peach, plus a characteristic hint of almond on the finish — a feature that gave the wine its name. The acidity is present but integrated, the body full-bodied without heaviness. The finish is long and slightly bitter, as is typical for a well-made Friulano from Collio.
Best served at 10–12 °C. Pairs with seafood risotto, grilled sea bass, or mild goat cheese — but it also cuts a fine figure as an aperitif with Prosciutto di San Daniele.
