Riesling Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, Kuehn

Riesling Grand Cru Kaefferkopf, Kuehn
Riesling from Alsace at Grand Cru level: The Kaefferkopf near Ammerschwihr is one of the most geologically complex sites in Alsace – loamy limestone over a granite base, which gives the Riesling both juiciness and mineral rigor.
Maison Kuehn has been rooted in Ammerschwihr for generations and is one of the most reliable producers of classic Alsatian Riesling with depth. The Grand Cru vineyard Kaefferkopf is one of the few in Alsace permitted for multiple grape varieties – but Riesling truly shines here, distinguished by its exceptional precision.
In the glass, the wine displays delicate aromas of white stone fruit, yuzu zest, and summer blossoms, underpinned by a clearly defined minerality. The acidity is lively but without harshness – the interplay of limestone and granite manifests on the palate as a spicy, slightly saline texture. Long, fresh finish.
Recommendation: Ready to drink now, potential until 2032+. Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass with fennel, tarte flambée with crème fraîche and bacon, or mature Munster.
