Maison Kuehn Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Mambourg Kuehn

The Gewurztraminer from Grand Cru Mambourg is one of the most expressive wines of Alsace – lush, aromatic, with a structure that lifts it far above a simple enthusiast's wine.

Maison Kuehn is one of the traditional wineries in the heart of Alsace, with roots in Ammerschwihr. The Mambourg is one of the warmest Grand Cru sites in the region – a south-facing limestone-marl ridge near Sigolsheim that allows the Gewurztraminer maximum ripeness and depth.

In the glass, the grape variety shows its full breadth: rose blossom, lychee, and ripe mango on the nose, plus a hint of ginger and cinnamon. On the palate, the wine appears dense and oily-textured, with a residual sweetness that is kept in balance by the lively acidity of the marl soils. The finish is long, spicy, with a slight bitter note of grapefruit zest.
