A Mâcon Villages that shows what Chardonnay can achieve in southern Burgundy when it is in the right hands. Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon is the project of the renowned Lafon family from Meursault — known for precise, terroir-faithful white wines without compromise. They have been producing in the Mâconnais since the early 1990s, and the signature of the Côte de Beaune is palpable in every glass.

In the glass, a medium yellow with silver reflections appears. The bouquet combines ripe pear and white peach with a hint of citrus peel and fresh chalk. On the palate, dry and taut, with lively acidity and a clean, mineral-tinged finish — typical for the limestone soils of the Mâconnais.

This Chardonnay pairs well with an evening during the week: well-chilled at 10–12 °C, it goes well with roasted chicken with herbs, a creamy risotto, or a platter of goat cheese. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated aperitif.
