Mâcon-Uchizy Les Maranches AC Mâcon 0.75L
Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon is known in the wine world primarily for its Meursault sites — but its commitment in the Mâconnais shows that the north of Burgundy has more to offer than just affordable alternatives. The Mâcon-Uchizy Les Maranches comes from the village of Uchizy, whose calcareous soils give the Chardonnay a clear mineral imprint.
A bright golden yellow in the glass. The bouquet opens with aromas of yellow peach, ripe pears, and a hint of white blossoms, accompanied by a fine chalky minerality in the background. On the palate, the wine is fresh and taut, with lively acidity and a medium body, which is typical for this appellation. The finish is clean and pleasantly long.
Served well-chilled at 10–12 °C, it pairs well with goat cheese from the Loire, grilled sea bass with herb butter, or a simple oven-roasted chicken. It also makes a good impression as an aperitif on a warm evening.
