Mâcon-Milly-Lamartine AC Mâcon 0.75L

A Chardonnay from the Mâconnais that shows what southern Burgundy can achieve in its best sites: clear fruit, lively acidity, and an expression that goes far beyond the usual level of the appellation.

Behind the name is the house of Lafon from Meursault — one of the great addresses of the Côte de Beaune. The Héritiers du Comte Lafon cultivate sites in the Mâconnais around Milly-Lamartine, the birthplace of the poet Alphonse de Lamartine. The vineyards are located on calcareous subsoil, which gives the Chardonnay structure and freshness.

In the glass, light golden yellow. On the nose, white peach, citrus zest, and a hint of brioche. On the palate, it is dry, with lively acidity and fine minerality on the finish — lean, but not thin.

Good with poultry in cream sauce, grilled sea bass, or a young goat cheese. Drinking temperature: 10–12 °C.
