Maca GIN-seng Elixir

The Maca GIN-seng Elixir by Dr. Jaglas is a German gin with a herbal and root character. The starting point is an original monastery elixir, whose regional herbs, roots, and berries have been supplemented here with two ingredients from far away: Korean ginseng and Peruvian maca.

The maca roots grow in the higher altitudes of the Andes and give the gin a fine, nutty base note. Over this lie the herbal and root aromas of the monastery recipe. In terms of taste, it is deliberately positioned in the middle between bitter and sweet (bitter-sweet): the bitter notes remain present, while the sweetness rounds them off.

Pure and well-chilled, the root and nut notes come into their own most clearly. On ice with an orange zest or as a gin and tonic, it brings a tart herbal spice to the glass. It is also a suitable choice as a digestif after a meal.
