Mac-Talla Flora is a lightly peated Islay single malt with a clearly floral character, intended as an accessible entry into island whiskies. It belongs to the standard range of Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers.

The full maturation relies on 70% sherry casks (1st fill Oloroso, 2nd fill PX) and 30% bourbon casks. The sherry wood brings sweetness and spice, the bourbon wood gives the malt structure. It is bottled at 48.2% vol., without coloring and without chill filtration.

In the nose, ripe blossoms and aromatic wood spice rise. On the palate, heather, soft peat smoke, and nutty undertones meet; the smoke remains in the background. Neat in a nosing glass, the floral notes come into their own best; a few drops of water open up the profile additionally. A whisky for quiet evenings, which beginners can also use to approach the world of Islay malts.
