Lirac Rouge AC 0.75L

Lirac is located directly opposite Châteauneuf-du-Pape on the other side of the Rhône — and Château Mont-Redon, one of the most famous addresses in the southern Rhône, returns here with a red wine that shows why this appellation is unjustly in the shadow of its famous neighbor.

Château Mont-Redon has been cultivating vineyards in the Rhône Valley for generations and is known for consistently artisanal wines. The Lirac Rouge is based on Grenache Noir, which finds its typical expressiveness on the gravelly-sandy soils of the appellation: fully ripe blackberry and dark cherry, accompanied by garrigue herbs such as thyme and lavender, which give these southern Rhône wines their unmistakable profile. On the palate, the wine presents itself with a soft, round body, ripe, well-integrated tannins, and a long, spicy finish.

Served at 16–17 °C, it unfolds best. At the table, it is strong alongside braised lamb with rosemary, daube de boeuf, or a robust goat cheese from Provence. If you are looking for an uncomplicated, characterful southern French wine for an evening for two, this is the right choice.
