Le Margaux du Chateau de Malleret

A classic Margaux character with the finesse one expects from the left bank of the Garonne: dark fruit, structure and a velvety finish that lingers.

Château de Malleret is located in the Médoc, in the Haut-Médoc appellation, and is one of the established, respected estates of Bordeaux. The wines from this estate benefit from the well-drained gravelly soils, which in this region favor the typical Cabernet Sauvignon dominance and are responsible for the characteristic tannin structure of Médoc wines.

The nose reveals aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, tobacco, and a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with well-balanced tannins and a fresh acidity that gives the wine length. The finish is warm and lingering with spicy notes. James Suckling awarded 93 points to the 2015 vintage—a clear indication of the quality of this cuvée.

Decant thoroughly before serving—at least one hour, preferably two. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs well with leg of lamb with herbs, entrecôte, or aged Mimolette. Drink by 2028.
