Lakrids by Bülow combines Danish licorice craftsmanship with an unexpected fruitiness: The Pink Pineapple edition encases delicate soft licorice in a layer of chocolate and a pineapple note that balances sweetness with a hint of tartness. These confections are made in the Copenhagen manufactory of Johan Bülow, who has been making Danish licorice internationally renowned for years.
Small spheres, a crisp chocolate shell, a soft licorice center — the interplay of sweetness, fruit, and the typical licorice-anise flavor makes them a perfect accompaniment for wine evenings with a surprise twist. Recommended pairing: a semi-dry Riesling Spätlese, a light rosé, or a Tawny Port, whose caramel notes complement the fruitiness.

Johan Bülow comes from a family of entrepreneurs and was always certain that he wanted to create something truly special. He dedicated his passion and all his energy to licorice, a popular Scandinavian sweet that he believed deserved more attention. He invested a great deal of time, learned the craft from the ground up, and in 2007 was able to cook, roll, and cut his very first product.
