La Clarté de Haut-Brion Blanc AC Pessac-Léognan 0.75L
The La Clarté de Haut-Brion Blanc is the second wine of the white Haut-Brion — created from grapes that do not go into the Grand Vin but carry the same origin: the gravelly soils of Pessac-Léognan in the heart of the Graves south of Bordeaux.
Château Haut-Brion is considered the oldest classified winery in Bordeaux, rooted in Pessac for centuries and today part of Domaine Clarence Dillon. The white Haut-Brion is one of France's most coveted rarities — La Clarté offers access to this style: Sauvignon Blanc on gravel and sand, characterized by mineral austerity and a South Atlantic climate.
In the glass, a wine with depth appears: white grapefruit, ripe mirabelle plum, and a hint of toasted hazelnut. The acidity is present but integrated — not a sharp cut, but a creamy line that carries the finish. Salty-mineral aftertaste that is reminiscent of the gravel soil from which this wine grows.
Serving temperature 11–13 °C. Goes well with grilled lobster, scallops with butter sauce, ripe Comté, or a classic poulet rôti with herbs.
