Jaboulet Parallele 45 Côtes du Rhône Rouge

After sunshine, dry conditions, and often already high temperatures in spring, the vines begin to bud earlier than usual. Summer, on the other hand, is comparatively cool with a few rain showers, which initially provide the vines with much-needed water reserves, but soon force the winemakers to implement rigorous vineyard hygiene to prevent rot and infections. Wineries like Paul Jaboulet Aîné, which practice integrated viticulture and forgo herbicides, ensure maximum ventilation through targeted canopy management, thus maintaining the health of the grapes, which can then ripen beautifully in late summer. At Paul Jaboulet Aîné, the harvest begins in early September with the white grapes. Then it's a matter of waiting until the red varieties richly reward this patience: with deeply colored grapes, ripe, silky tannins, balance, structure, and finesse. The harvest in the Crozes-Hermitage parcels begins at the end of September. The grapes are fully destemmed, crushed, and fermented on the skins for approximately three weeks at controlled temperatures. The wines then mature in tanks and bottles before being released for sale. Côtes du Rhône Secret de Famille Rouge has a very deep red color with a beautiful sheen. On the nose, this Côtes du Rhône from Paul Jaboulet impresses with an elegant, fruity bouquet of red fruits (berries) and spices. On the palate, it is well-structured with soft, rounded tannins and a delicate berry spice finish.

Jaboulet

The French winery D. Paul Jaboulet Aîné was founded in 1834 and is today owned by the Frey family and managed by the eldest daughter, Caroline Frey. The winery is located in the Rhône Valley, north of the city of Valence, which lies in the southeast of the country.

There, the winemakers at Jaboulet have around 100 hectares of vineyards at their disposal, where grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Viognier, or Bouroulenc are grown for the production of their wines.
