JJ Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese

J.J. Prüm in Wehlen is one of the defining names of the Middle Mosel. For generations, the winery has cultivated steep slopes on blue slate — including the Graacher Himmelreich, a south-facing site directly at the river bend. The slate stores heat, releases it slowly at night, and lays the foundation for the characteristic minerality that distinguishes Prüm Rieslings. Katharina Prüm leads the house today: long fermentation, late bottling, no compromise on quality.

In the glass, aromas of white peach, apricot, and citrus zest appear, underscored by a fine slate note. On the palate, the natural residual sweetness carries the lively acidity without dampening it — creamy texture, long finish with a hint of petrol that unfolds further over the years.

Served at 8–10 °C. Pairs with Asian dishes with coconut milk or ginger, with blue cheese like Roquefort, or enjoyed on its own as a companion for a long summer evening.
