JJ Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Selection
Riesling Auslese from one of the most famous sites in the Middle Moselle – the Graacher Himmelreich, with its weathered blue slate, provides the basis for this classic sweet wine with a long future.
The JJ Prüm winery in Wehlen has been one of the Mosel's leading producers for generations. The grapes for this Auslese come from the Graacher Himmelreich vineyard, a steep slope directly on the riverbank with deep Devonian slate soil. This soil gives the wines their characteristic minerality and supports the natural acidity, even in sweeter vintages.
On the nose, dried apricot, candied lemon peel, and a hint of ginger. On the palate, the residual sweetness combines with a firm, almost salty acidity – not cloying, but a lively interplay between sweetness and freshness. The finish is long with a touch of flint and white peach.
