J. Charpentier Rosé Brut

A rosé champagne that impresses with clear fruit and structure: blackcurrant and quince on the nose, ripe cherry on the palate with a long, dry finish.

Behind the bottle is a family winery from Villers-sous-Châtillon in the Vallée de la Marne, founded by Pierre Charpentier in 1920. Today, Claudine and Jacky Charpentier, together with their children Jean-Marc and Marie-Pierre, manage the estate in the fifth generation — from cultivation to vinification, everything is in their own hands. The main grape variety is Pinot Meunier, which thrives particularly well in this area of the Marne Valley and gives the rosé its characteristic fruit intensity.

In the glass, it shows a lively salmon pink. The aromas of blackcurrant and quince open up with a little air, followed on the palate by cherry with a taut acidity structure and a persistent, dry finish. Served at 8–10 °C, it pairs well with salmon tartare, duck breast, or a strawberry dessert with little sugar — but it also makes a great impression as an aperitif to start a dinner.
