Ihringer Winklerberg Pinot Noir QW Baden dry 0.75L
The Ihringer Winklerberg is one of the warmest and sunniest sites in Germany — volcanic Kaiserstuhl soil, loess loam, and a microclimate that is closer to Burgundy than the German average. It is precisely here that this Pinot Noir grows from the Freiherr von Gleichenstein winery, one of the oldest noble estates in the Kaiserstuhl with roots dating back to the 16th century.
In the glass, it shows a red cherry fruit profile with wild berries and a hint of white pepper. The palate is medium-weight, the tannins fine-grained, the acidity lively without sharpness — typical for Pinot Noir from this site, which places elegance over mass. The finish is persistent and spicy.
You should best drink it at 16–18 °C — with duck breast with cherry sauce, venison medallions, or a ripe Munster cheese from nearby Alsace. It also cuts a fine figure with pasta with mushroom ragout.
